The Band Social Development Workers (BSDW) administer Income Assistance On-reserve for BC First Nation Communities. We provide BSDW training, policy clarification and essential services as they relate to Social Development and Income Assistance.

NEW! The BSDW Online Training Website

Launched on September 01, 2011 - The FNSDS is pleased to announce the creation of a new Online Training Website! This new website will be expanded and added to over the next year to contain YouTube videos, downloadable PowerPoint Tutorials, printable training materials, NCB rate tables etc, for Band Social Development Workers to access. The Online Training material will complement our successful Module1, 2 and 3 BSDW Training sessions as well as offer sample completed forms, scenarios, Q & As and policy clarification and more.

BSDW Modules 1, 2 & 3

BSDW Module1- Accountability Essentials  - This training will be provided by the FNSDS Centre to new and novice BSDWs or BSDWs that wish to refresh their skills. The module will contain training on caseload management, documentation, file management, IA forms  and reporting.  This is a 3 & 1/2 day module with an exam at the beginning, end and 3 months later as follow up to assure retention.
