The FNSDS is a non-profit society that provides support services to the Band Social Development Workers of BC. The Band Social Development Workers (BSDW) administer Income Assistance On-reserve for BC First Nation Communities. We provide BSDW training, policy clarification and essential services as they relate to Social Development and Income Assistance. The FNSDS is also engaged with federal and provincial governments agencies as well as First Nation organizations in promoting Accountability, Active Measures and Sustainability for BC First Nations.

- To inform and influence the development of Social Development poliyc, programs, and services for First Nations in BC.
- To enhance access to a full continuum of integrated Social Development services fo First Nations communities in BC by creating opportunities for social development personnel to network for the sharing of ideas, strategies and best practices.
- To advance the level of education and professional development of First Nation Social Developmnent personnel.
- To advance the efficiency and quality of Social Development services for First Nations.
The primary goal of the FNSDS Resource Centre is to provide BC First Nation communities with up-to-date information, training and support services in the area of Social Development and Social Assistance.
